The elders who are among you I exhort, even as a fellow elder…" This helps us understand that even though Peter was an apostle, he considered himself an elder.

"…and an eyewitness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory that is about to be revealed" (v 1). He went with James and John to the Mount of Transfiguration and saw Jesus in His glorified form.

Verse 2: "Feed the flock of God…" That's what it's to be. It's not to be an office over. It is not to be one of glory, self-serving, dictatorial things at all.
