Rescue us from the evil one! Why do we need to be rescued from Satan the devil?

Let’s come to Matt. 6 and see that this is one of the very first things that Jesus told us to do.

So, you read Matt. 5, He didn’t come to do away with the law of the prophets, but to fulfill, that is complete. Then guess what? Jesus came to reveal the Father! We can now have access to the Father.

Well look how we are to start out our prayers every day. One of the very first things He taught:

Matthew 6:9: “Therefore, you are to pray after this manner: ‘Our Father…’”

Notice: no sacred ‘so-called’ names! What is the most sacred name of all? Our Father, there it is.

“…Who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your Kingdom come…” (vs 9-10).

That’s the whole purpose of why we’re here, that God’s Kingdom will come.

“…Your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.” (v10). That means:

• everything on earth

• the righteousness that God is building within all of those who are His sons and daughters right now

• all the events in the world that are to take place

They’re all going to happen!
